Editorial Policy
Our Goal
Critical Spawn News publishes evergreen guides and explainers about VR gaming and about co-op and party games. Our goal is accuracy and clarity. This page explains how we choose topics, how we check facts and what we do when we get something wrong.
How We Choose Topics
We focus on questions players genuinely ask and that stay relevant beyond a single update: how to set up and fit a headset, how to play comfortably, how platforms differ, how a game or feature works, which games suit a particular group, and how important games and devices came to be. We avoid leaks, rumours and content that depends on this week’s announcements. We do not publish gambling content.
Research and Fact-Checking
- Headset features, setup steps and safety guidance are checked against manufacturers’ official specification and support pages.
- Game details such as player counts, platforms and crossplay support are checked against developer and publisher websites and official store listings.
- Release dates and historical facts are checked against official announcements and reputable outlets or reference works.
- Hardware and software change, so where details can change we state the point in time or version they refer to, for example “as of 2026”.
- If we cannot verify a claim, we leave it out. We do not invent quotes, statistics, prices or personal play experiences.
Health and Comfort Topics
Articles about motion sickness, eyesight, fitness or physical safety in VR share general, widely accepted advice and manufacturers’ own guidance. They are not medical advice, and we recommend consulting a qualified professional about any health concern.
Sources
Each article ends with a list of the main sources we used, linked so readers can check them. We prefer primary sources such as manufacturer support pages, official game sites and platform stores.
Use of AI Tools
AI tools assist our team with research organisation and drafting. Every article is then fact-checked against sources and edited by a person before publication. Responsibility for what we publish rests with our editorial team, not with any software.
Authorship
Articles are published under the pen name Riley Hartman, which represents our small independent editorial team. We do not attribute credentials or experience to the pen name that we do not have.
Corrections and Updates
If you find an error, please email [email protected] with the article link and, ideally, a source. We review every report. Factual errors are corrected promptly, and significant corrections are noted at the end of the article with the date of the update. We also review evergreen articles periodically when new hardware or major updates change the picture.
Sponsored Content and Links
Critical Spawn News is independent and not affiliated with any hardware maker, platform holder, developer or publisher. If we publish sponsored content, it will always be clearly labelled “Sponsored”, and any paid links will carry the rel=”sponsored” attribute. Sponsors have no influence over our regular editorial content.
